Tec 45 is also a subset of the Tec Deep Diver course and takes your skills to the next level. It introduces you to accelerated decompression diving up to 45 metres/145 feet using 100% oxygen.

Conducted over a period of at least three days, Tec 45 is a course where you will learn to rise to the challenge and make the commitment to become a technical diver.

It consists of three knowledge development sections, classroom sessions, and a minimum of four open water dives. Building on what you learned in the Tec 40 course, you focus on risk management and learn to think like a technical diver. You also learn the cognitive and motor skills necessary to be a safe technical diver.

Upon certification, Tec 45 divers are qualified to make limited accelerated decompression dives using enriched air or pure oxygen.

At SEI, technical diving courses are taught using a mix of classroom presentations, theory discussions, & in-water training, leading up to open water dives. An ideal course schedule goes as follows –

Day 1 (8.30am–5pm): Classroom presentation & decompression theory discussion; equipment & gas considerations; finning workshop & pool training

Days 2 & 3 (7am-3pm): Open water dives including qualifying dive, debrief & further remedial training if required.

Once a course is booked, we assign e-learning materials at the earliest to help you complete theory sections at your pace & convenience, prior to arrival at the dive centre. This is highly recommended as it also allows us to allocate more time for in-water training.

Technical courses are performance-based & not time-based. This means, the duration of the course depends on the time it takes you for to master skills & additional training days may be required, if necessary.

  • The course can be conducted in standard recreational equipment or on sidemount.
  • The participant should be a certified sidemount diver with at least 10 sidemount dives or should have completed the Tec 40 Course in sidemount
  • The course can be combined with the Tec 40 Course
  • It is strongly recommended that no flights be undertaken for at least 24 hours after the last dive
  • We do not provide accommodation, pick-up & drop services either from hotel or dive centre. However, we can assist in all bookings for the same, through our partner companies.
