From exploring well-preserved wrecks to spotting new species, many great dive experiences lie beyond depths of 18 metres/60 feet. The PADI Deep Diver Specialty teaches you to perform such deeper dives but within the limits of recreational scuba in a safe, supervised manner.
Deeper dives come with additional challenges and safety considerations. During this course, you develop your diving capabilities and focus on perfecting your foundational skills, because buoyancy control becomes increasingly critical the deeper you dive. You also learn to plan your dives in greater detail; manage your gas; and identify and deal with narcosis.
As a certified Deep Diver, you can dive to a maximum depth of 40 metres/130 feet – the upper limit of recreational scuba.
The course comprises 2 main components –
- Knowledge development through self-study or briefings specific to each dive. Once a course is booked, we assign e-learning materials at the earliest to help you complete theory sections at your pace & convenience, prior to arrival at the dive centre. This is highly recommended as it also allows us to allocate more time for in-water training.
- Open water dives to practice & refine your existing skills including buoyancy control, underwater navigation & deep diving techniques, including a review of dive tables.
Dive days start by 7am & end around 3pm. We recommend that you visit us at the dive centre a day prior to starting the course to check & pack your equipment, & interact with your instructor.

- In keeping with our ‘safety first’ approach to diving, we recommend that dives for this course be done on Enriched Air. The Enriched Air Diver course can be completed a day prior to the Deep Diver course.
- If you have not dived in over 6 months, we recommend that you sign up for a skill refresher session to be conducted prior to commencing the course.
- It is strongly recommended that no flights be undertaken for at least 18 hours after the last dive
- Extra training days (if required, for non-medical reasons) are priced at 5500/- per day
- We do not provide accommodation, pick-up & drop services either from hotel or dive centre. However, we can assist in all bookings for the same, through our partner companies.
